PIEDMONT, California — The Piedmont Recreational Facilities Organization (PRFO) is excited to continue its capital campaign for the Piedmont Pool Project and congratulates the City of Piedmont on its notice of intent to award a pool construction contract.

“It has been a long road, but PRFO is excited for this next phase of planning to begin and we’re eager to see this project become reality,” says Steve Collins, President of PRFO. “The next few weeks will be critical to our goal of raising the additional $2M needed to bridge the gap between the funds raised through Measure UU and projected construction costs.”

The funds raised by PRFO will help ensure key elements of the project will be included. This includes funds needed for the competitive-size pool to be built at a regulation length and depth for water polo play and competitive swimming, a diving well with two diving boards, a scoreboard, a timing system, sports lighting, and starting blocks and toe ledges. Funds could also cover three (3) standard-length lap lanes and a shallow area for play and swim lessons in the Activity Pool, and a poolside room for parties and gatherings.

Over the next 3 weeks, in addition to outreach to community members and organizations, PRFO will be working with the city on a groundbreaking ceremony inaugurating the beginning of the project.

PRFO encourages the community to visit their website at PRFO.org to learn more about the project and to make a tax-deductible donation.
