In November 2020, with more than two-thirds of the vote, Piedmonters approved Measure UU, a $19,500,000 bond measure to pay for the renovation and enhancement of the Piedmont Community Pool. In October 2021, ELS Architecture and Urban Design was awarded the contract to provide design services for the new Piedmont Community Pool. Using the 2017 conceptual master plan as a springboard, ELS led the community through a design process that produced a wonderful concept that was approved by the City Council in January 2022. Unfortunately, due to extreme inflationary pressures, the original cost projections are no longer realistic and the design was revised significantly in the spring to bring down the cost of the project. Â
Despite these extensive alterations, several of the key elements of the project will not be funded without contributions from private sources.
In 2020, our community came together to pass an essential measure to rebuild our Community Pool. It is now up to us to complete this special project.
